She explains the impact of W.E.B. DuBois and Harlem Renaissance leaders such Arna Bontemps, James Weldon Johnson, Zora Neale Hurston, and Aaron Douglas who spent time here, as well as contemporary greats such as Oprah Winfrey, Carl Rowan, Ted Rhodes and Wilma Rudolf. Dr. Young also explains the boycotts that made Nashville the first documented home of the modern Civil Rights Movement. Lunch and shopping are tour options.
